I have not found the exact cause of the issue but I have found a decent workaround. Thank you for linking to to real solution instead of my workaround. I don’t have an available device to confirm this fix but as of now people have confirmed that deleting that scheduled task folder fixed the problem for them so I am going to assume that it is the real fix. User’s post on January 12, I was unable to get any office functions to open. I did a system restore and the apps and start button work again but I had to uninstall the Office program. The only way to check my mail is through outlook. I will try to reinstall the office program one more time to see if that will work now.

I have not tried installing any other software, but I expect they’d be blocked by the incomplete Office installation. Otherwise, the PC seems to run normally, but I don’t know what else might have been damaged along with the networking by the Office tech.

I am thinking I might try calling Lenovo support to see if they can fix the mess Microsoft support left behind, but haven’t had the time yet. I don’t have the exact Lenovo model with me right now because I’m at work, but I can get it at home.
